The most famous Corgi release of all time is indisputably James Bond's Aston Martin DB5, first released in 1965
Top Gear / Grand Tour co-host, James May, is equally as passionate about toys as he is cars. Like many who grew up with Bond as a hero, his favourite toy, of all time, is the Corgi James Bond Aston Martin DB5. That’s item No 261 from the 1965 Corgi catalogue, but you knew that right?
James will be excited, then, to see Aston Martin’s event activation in preparation for the forthcoming Bond film, No Time to Die. Celebrating the cult following of the original Corgi toy and of course its DB5 model immortalised within the Bond franchise, the brand has placed a real life DB5 continuation vehicle in giant Corgi Cars toy packaging.
