Kiwi drivers will be taking to the tarmac in the USA, Europe and Australia this weekend.
Supercars
Supercars will be hitting the track in anger for the first time this year at the Bathurst 500 this weekend. Both the Camaro and Mustang have had their aerodynamics tweaked, making the cars more stable and balanced, with the hope that this will allow closer racing for the 2024 season.
Three Giltrap drivers will be taking on the mountain this weekend: André Heimgartner, Matt Payne, and Ryan Wood making his Supercars debut.
Heimgartner will be pushing to build on a solid result of seventh in the overall standings for the 2023 season, Matt Payne’s last outing saw him inducted into the Supercars winners club, and Ryan Wood is one of three rookies making their debut in the top-tier this weekend.
Porsche Sprint Challenge Southern Europe
Marco Giltrap will be back behind the wheel of a Porsche Cup Car in Valencia for round 5 & 6 of Porsche Sprint Challenge Southern Europe this weekend.
The Australian Sprint Challenge and Super Trofeo Asia champion is gaining valuable experience in the 992 generation GT3 Cup Car before beginning his Australian Carrera Cup campaign later this year.
NASCAR Xfinity Series
After surviving the chaos of his debut Xfinity Series outing at Daytona, SVG will be revved up to apply the learnings he made in that gauntlet to a fresh weekend.
This weekend’s race is taking place at Atlanta Motor Speedway, another fast oval where pack-racing is key to success.
