The Volvo XC90 is getting a refresh

Sep 9, 2024

Volvo have revealed a facelift for the XC90, with clear cues taken from the all-electric EX90.

It’s a key step for Volvo to maintain the popularity of a model that has sold almost one million units in the last ten years, without receiving any major updates.

The updates to the XC90’s design and tech take clear inspiration from its fully electric sibling, the EX90.

The range is topped by the T8 Plug-in hybrid, which can provide emissions-free motoring for up to 70km with its 14.7kWh battery; while the other two models in the range offer mild-hybrid systems.

While the new XC90 shares a platform with its predecessor, the suspension system has been upgraded to improve comfort and stability. This includes new double-wishbone suspension at the front, and frequency-selective dampers at the rear.

An updated front end features a new grille design and headlights, wheel options and updated taillights.
